how to keep flies off your food while eating outsideWhile we were having our dinner outside we were pestered by flies. So we literally gave them their own plate.
Put some meat just a little on a paper plate and put it about 10ft away from where you are eating. They will swarm and have their own party but at least they won't be bothering you any more. We had one or two after that but compared to the 15 or 20 that were buzzing about previously it was well worth it.
once finished just put the plate in the bin
We also did this recently with some wasps, we were having afternoon tea and they were coming for the jam. We put a little bit of jam on a small container, they stayed on there and left us alone.
