If you were my 2-year-old, where would you hide your brother's brand new passport?
Some of the answers include:
- If he was my one year-old, it would be in the shoe rack
- Through a very tiny and previously unnoted slot, eg. CD? DVD machine? Like posting it.
- I once asked my niece- if you were mummy’s car keys, where would you be? She led me straight to under a pillow in her wardrobe. After 3 days of my brother and sister in law looking.
- A bin, kitchen/bathroom probably most likely
- The toaster?!!
- down the back of radiators
- Let it go a day. Then give the brother your passport like it is a big gift and don’t give one to the two year old. He will get jealous and pull the missing one out of hiding.
- Floor vents. It took me nearly a year to discover where my kid’s toys were going.
- Some ideas you’ve probably tried but just in case: inside toy trucks with openable cargo areas. Ride-able toys with under-seat storage. Toy fridge. Toy purse/backpack/anything approximating their own luggage if they know it’s travel related. In their fave kitchen cabinet.
- Deep under the fridge or washing machine?
- When that age, my kid liked to post stuff out the letter slot in the front door. We ended up fitting a dog cage to it. Not because of the dog, but because I was tired of finding my keys, cards, etc sat on the front door mat. Hope you manage to find it!
- Number one thing is to look in all the places that your two-year-old frequents. Under bed? Behind loo? In toybox? Back of TV, etc? Dresser drawers? :)
- Give him another and watch very closely where he puts it. In my experience, there is one good hiding place!
- At the back of a drawer full of Lego. That's where my son hid our TV remote. We found it after we bought a new one
-
If I were 2 what would I trade for a passport is the real question? Show them what a passport is first, then say, “ if you get me this, you can have ______!!!!” Yeah!
- Down the loo or in the washing basket?
- Cereal box. Between the wrapper and the cardboard where you used to hunt for the free gift
- Do you have a printer? Check the paper tray or any tiny slots along it. Our 2-year-old is obsessed with slipping paper clips and business cards etc inside our printer.
- Shoes/Wellies
- In a random cardboard box that the grownups think is clutter but is actually very precious
- The oven of the play kitchen is where my child always put my shoes at that age
- Play kitchen, under sofa or rug, in a little purse or kids doctor kit etc.
- car seat
- Inside a book
- Under furniture
- Sock/underwear drawer
- Biscuit tin
- Toy box
- Toaster
- My 2 year-old would hide it behind the headboard of a bed. That is where we found her big sister's phone weeks after it went missing.
We found it when we caught her hiding other things there!
- Give him something similar and see what he does with it
- Do you have animals? Dogs? Cats?
Maybe look around their bedding, play areas.
- Couch cushion
- Laundry
- Fridge
- Under matress
- Printer/scanner
- Ask him
